This weekend, Red Bull held their annual Fortnite LAN tournament Red Bull Contested, where Taylor-Petrik “Vico” Gatschelhofer won the top honors. The event took place at McEwan Hall in Edinburgh, with a unique format allowing some of the world’s best Fortnite players to play teams in multiple matches. In the end, Vico finished the game in top honors, with 30 eliminations across 8 rounds of play, placing the trophy, the bagging rights and the substantial part of the prize pool. “Red Bull Contested established himself to be a Battle Royale for the ages, with very good plays on the board, and a complete set of new weapons and metas from the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3, released on Friday. With no obvious contenders for the crown when the competition began, Taylor-Petrik “Vico” Gatschelhofer quickly established himself and acted as a force of reckoning, racking up 20 eliminations throughout the first half of the competition and taking out elite players such as “Veno” Pearson.

The unique format of the tournament gave you unforgettable memories as it was difficult for the prize. The second half became difficult for the favored player WAVE Vico, who was eliminated in round seven by leadboard latecomer Bailey “Vortexers” Mayhead. During the fifth round, a group of underdogs emerged. Nevertheless, Ludvig “bevvys” Thoernblad, running, won six eliminations with victory by a single edge on five and six rounds. The success catapulted him into the top of the leaderboard and challenged some of the early Red Bull Contested frontrunners as they were forced to reckon with the increased stakes of later rounds.”
