LoLs next champion finally has a tentative PBE release date

Riot Games said League of Legends will receive two new champions including Milio and the new Darkin character Nafiri.

Now, in an emergency answer-and-answer video today, executive producer Jeremy Brightmoon Lee and studio head Andrei Meddler van Roon gave some more details about the unreleased assassin, sifting out when players might get to see it on the PBE.

According to Meddler, Naafiri is set to be able to summon summoners to try later this month, around the end of June. The devs don’t specify when they’ll be putting the champion out for testing, but we should discuss over the next few weeks as the release day approaches.

Naafiri is a hunter from Shurima and uses her Darkin assassin abilities to track down his enemies. Shes been nicknamed Dog, by a number of teasers and by Meddler himself. She was designed for play in the middle of the lane and used to use a dagger to take the enemies down. Naafiri will be built for macros, so a player with fewer game knowledge can continue to teach her with good efficiency.

We hope to reduce the burden of that execution and allow for more focus, according to Alexia Gao, of the biggest producer. Assassin gameplay like Naafiri has been changing, we built a lot of new techniques to meet the unique gameplay thematic requirement for a more vibrant, dynamic, and decluttered world.
